Ed Lawson: Perpetual Ugly Sweater Energy

The Mayor of Sparks, Ed Lawson, took to social media to grandly proclaim that he doesn’t read us.
And honestly? What a relief. We’d hate for him to trip over the articles about his greatest hits—like his dream of a toll road, or the time he championed the Lands Bill while paying his buddies to lobby for it long after the bill had flatlined.

Well at least Mayor Lawson called us a source.

And who could forget Ed’s attempt to charge the public for public records? A bill so bad even the 2025 Legislature punted it into the sun.

But the pièce de résistance? Ed’s full-blown legislative tantrum because the folks in Carson City weren’t doing exactly what Ed wanted. Ed ranted about the 83rd Nevada Legislature being made up of public employees or union members, you mean like the public employees who work for the City of Sparks, and how about those pesky firefighter and police who are members of unions.

Oh, and if you’ve moved to Sparks from California to retire don’t tell Ed because you’re not bringing any brain power to the Sparks community. So Ed thinks senior citizens don’t have any brain power and are draining Sparks resources. Wow.

So yes, Ed, we are thrilled beyond a National Lampoon–level eggnog haze that you “don’t follow us.”
