Photos Don’t Lie: Hicks, Hill, and the Supply Line of Politics
District Attorney Chris Hicks stumping for Governor Joe Lombardo - was Hicks campaigning on taxpayers dime or did he take time off.
Picon readers called us out - District Attorney Chris Hicks was spotted at Joe Lombardo’s governor kickoff at Western Nevada Supply. Sure, it makes for a good photo op — but we’re left to wonder: was Hicks there on his own dime, or was this yet another taxpayer-funded field trip? You know, is he campaigning on his work hours, hence funded by taxpayers.
A breakfast fundraiser was held for Commissioner Alexis Hill back in 2024 at Western Nevada Supply.
And speaking of Western Nevada Supply, apparently their political faucet runs in all directions. Let’s not forget: this is the same company that hosted a cozy breakfast fundraiser for Commissioner Alexis Hill, showering her with contributions and cutting a $5,000 check for her county race. Now, apparently, they’ve shifted their generosity to Governor Lombardo.
Political plumbing, indeed.
Meanwhile, as Republican candidates cozy up to donors, Robert Beadles is back in town. Perfect timing, too — just as local hopefuls start rattling their tin cups to raise enough money to block any Beadles-backed challenger from gaining traction.
So here’s the scorecard:
Hicks plays politics on possible taxpayer time.
Hill banks breakfast money.
Western Nevada Supply keeps the cash flowing.
Lombardo smiles for the cameras.
And voters? They’re left reading the fine print on who really owns their electeds.
Read it and weep, Washoe County.
