Please Say It’s So … Is Wes Duncan Running for Washoe County Distrcit Attorney?

Go to lunch on June 12, 2025 and ask Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan if he will be running for Washoe County Distrcit Attorney.

In 2024 Sparks City Attorney Wes Duncan ran unopposed, but we don’t remember him speaking at a local Republican Women’s group - but now it seems he is.

Political operatives are saying they have been told Duncan is going to run against Distrcit Attorney Chris Hicks. Is this speech in front of the largest Republican Women’s group in Washoe County sort of a campaign kick-off. We can only guess.

If Duncan does decide to run he has set himself up nicely by raising a whole lot of campaign contributions in 2024 just check out his Nevada Secretary of State Contribution and Expense Report.

Hicks not so much. He will be needing to play catch up and we’ve heard from a number of lawyers in the area they are more likely to donate to Duncan than Hicks.
