Shirts Off, Rumors Off? Sparks Councilman Donald Abbott Caught in the Wild.

Social media post a reader sent to us with the comment “look who isn’t running for Sparks Mayor.'‘

Well, he’s definitely not overdressed for the occasion.

A sharp-eyed reader sent us a gem from a recent baseball game: Sparks Councilmember Donald Abbott, shirtless and soaking up the sun with a friend. While the crowd was focused on home runs, Abbott was apparently working on his tan.

The reader captioned the moment perfectly: “At least we know who’s not running for mayor of Sparks.”

Ouch—or should we say, sunburn?

Rumors have swirled for months about Abbott possibly entering the 2026 mayoral race, but if this photo proves anything, it's that he's currently more into peanuts and Cracker Jack than press conferences and campaign trails.

Abbott has not commented on the photo, but we’d like to think his platform now includes “Free the torso.”

For the record, we believe everyone deserves a day off—and maybe a reminder that stadium sunscreen is a must. Hopefully Councilmember Abbott got a supply of Spooge from Reno Mayor Schieve.
