The Tale of the Disappearing Judge
We’re going to keep asking why Department 4 Judge Connie Steinheimer is not on the bench?
Once, in the bustling City of Reno, there lived a Princess of the Law named Connie. She did not wear a crown of gold; she wore a robe woven from thirty-four years of truth, and her scepter was a pen that had signed scrolls of justice.
While others played at being royals, Connie was in the trenches. She taught the young how to read the ancient statutes of the UNR and TMCC, and she stood as a shield for those caught in the tangled briars of the "wrong" laws—protecting even those the Kingdom had misunderstood.
But in the high, cold tower of the Great Courthouse sat the newly elected Chief Judge. He was a man who loved the sound of the gavel more than the weight of justice, and he wanted all the recognition. So the Chief Judge tried to vanish Connie from the people’s sight.
People questioned if the Chief Judge was trying to "spirit her away" into the mists of retirement.
Our “fable” asks our question - why is Judge Connie Steinheimer not on the bench in Department 4.
