Cares Campus Without Caretaker?

Division Director Dana Searcy presented a Housing and Homeless Services Overview back in June 2025. So if she’s gone what happened in a few weeks. Might this be another Sober 24 mess.

We’ve been hearing chatter from sources who used to work at Our Place that Dana Searcy, once the captain of the Nevada Cares Campus, may have slipped out of Washoe County without so much as a goodbye wave. No announcement, no update — just silence.

If the rumor’s true, that’s one big vacancy in one very visible spot. But instead of clarity, residents get crickets. Looks like the county is letting the grapevine do the heavy lifting again.

So… who’s minding the Cares Campus now?
