Kim Bacchus Brings Drama to the Atlantis … Her ‘Little Party’ Gets Physical
Is this what the Washoe Republican Women want to be known for? But we enjoy the fact these organizations are in chaos.
Supporting Jon Killoran Apparently Means Losing Your Composure at least for Kim
Bacchus …
What a corker of a day it was yesterday at the monthly luncheon for the Washoe Republican Women.
Front and center once again was Kim Bacchus — former president, and by many accounts still the de facto force running what she herself reportedly called “their little party” AKA Washoe Republican Women.
And apparently “little party” also means little regard for personal space.
According to attendees, Bacchus became involved in an altercation with another individual during the luncheon held inside the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa - forcing him out of the very public club. Which raises an obvious question: since when do political luncheons inside casinos become venues for physically confronting or touching other attendees?
Whatever disagreement occurred, no one attending a public luncheon should expect someone else to put hands on them or invade their personal space. Period. We ponder why the Atlantis Spa and Casino allows this club inside their casino.
The incident also reignites larger conversations surrounding Bacchus and the political circles she moves within. She remains closely aligned with Clara Andriola and trys to wield influence in local political and activist circles long after formally leading the Republican women’s group.
Residents may also remember Bacchus from the 2021 battle surrounding the former Lakeridge Tennis Club property, where community fundraising and neighborhood activism became major issues during the fight against redevelopment plans. And despite years of activism and controversy, the neighborhood ultimately found itself once again losing ground in later disputes involving golf and development interests. So basically Bacchus who claims to have clout lost twice once in 2021 and then again in 2025 to Duncan Golf Management. We question why the residents of the Lakeridge Development listen to Bacchus -,she keeps taking their donations and hires her friends and hasn’t won a battle yet.
Bacchus is a widow and was married to a doctor - her claim to fame has always been writing a check to her candidate of choice.
Yesterday’s incident was less about politics and more about conduct.
Because regardless of political affiliation, status, friendships, or social standing, acting entitled enough to physically confront another attendee at a luncheon is not leadership. It is embarrassing.
And many are now asking why organizations and venues continue tolerating behavior that would likely draw immediate criticism if done by almost anyone else.
Power and influence do not grant immunity from basic standards of public behavior. If anything, they should demand higher standards.
