A Picture Worth a Thousand Riffs

Picon was surprised the propaganda folks at Washoe County would send this photo out showing the divide between the commissioners - and no the seats were not name assigned, just reserved. Pondering why seats were reserved for county employees. Do we have to keep reminding the county they exist to serve residents of Washoe County not themselves.

At the State of the County, the seating chart looked less like leadership and more like a middle school lunchroom. On one end: Clara Andriola, Alexis Hill, and Mariluz Garcia. On the other: Mke Clark and Jeanne Herman. The divide wasn’t just visible — it was practically screaming for a caption.

This isn’t a “team of rivals,” it’s a dysfunctional family photo where nobody wanted to sit next to the two commissioners who don’t do what Alexis Hill wants them to do. That’s right, the gal holding the gavel while the county splinters down the middle? Chair Alexis Hill — who, by the way, thinks she’s ready to run the entire state.

Here’s the kicker: if Hill can’t keep five commissioners from looking like sworn enemies at a government pep rally, what happens when she’s in charge of millions of Nevadans? Spoiler: the divide won’t shrink — it’ll just get statewide seating arrangements.
