Just Asking for a Friend (and a Few Taxpayers)

Termed out Councilmember Naomi Duerr, “i wanna be mayor” Councilmember Devon Reese, “I cheated off a fellow students work to pass physics” Councilmember Brandi Anderson, and the new Reno Vice Mayor Miguel Martinez at the Veterans Day Parade on November 11th in City of Reno swag.

We couldn’t help but notice those matching shirts the Reno City Council members wore at the Veterans Day Parade — very coordinated, very official-looking. Cool City of Reno swag.

Here’s our question: did taxpayers pick up the tab for those?

Given that the City of Reno is already about $25 million in the red, we’d hope our councilmembers — who earn solid salaries — paid for their own parade-day swag.

We’ll be asking for clarification, but maybe the City of Reno’s Facebook team can save everyone the trouble and let us know right here. Transparency looks good on everyone.
